President's Day

On the third Monday of every February we celebrate President's Day. I should not say we "celebrate" as most people just view it as a day of no mail, no school, and some shopping sales. It is a day to celebrate the birthday of George Washington, but overtime has expanded to include more than just him.

This holiday started in 1880 and eventually moved to inlcude all federal offices in 1885. It is intended to celebrate old George for founding our nation and getting things established.

I am just curious....what holidays are being celebrated around the world this time of year? Please share as I love to continue to learn about the cultures all over the world.
